Reporting Information
Communication between staff, students and parents/caregivers is of great importance and benefit to the success and wellbeing of students. Two important parts of this communication are:
- The reporting of a student’s academic progress periodically and
- An opportunity to meet and discuss an individual child’s progress at a face-to-face interview
Student Reporting - Reception to Year 12
Written reports for all students across all year levels will be published twice per year – one at the end of each Semester. These reports provide parents/caregivers with some detailed information on academic and personal progress and allow teachers to give short comments on attitude and achievements.
Additionally, for students in Year 7 to Year 12, Student Progress Reports are published. These reports provide an overview of a student’s progress across a term. Student Progress Reports are published at the end of Term 1 and 3.

Parent/Teacher Interviews
Parent-teacher interviews are an essential part of a child’s education as they help to foster positive relationships between parents and teachers, which ultimately benefits the student. Interviews provide an opportunity for teachers to share important information about a student’s academic progress, behaviour, and social development. Moreover, they enable parents to provide valuable insights into their child’s learning style, interests, and home environment.
Avenues College offers the opportunity for all families to connect with their children’s relevant teachers at our annual Parent/Teacher Interview night. Interviews for families of all students in Reception to Year 12 will be offered on the same night, usually in the last two or three weeks of Term One.
