Enrolment process
Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at Avenues College.
Depending on the age of your child and the entry point to learning, Avenues College has separated the slightly different enrolment processes :
- Preschool
- Primary School (Reception to Year 6) & Secondary School (Year 7 to Year 12)
Zoning limitations apply to all enrolments. You can check your zoned Preschool, Primary school or Secondary school, using the Department for Education’s online tool available here:
Department for Education Online Preschool and School Zoning Tool
The school gives priority enrolment to children who live inside the zone.
Visit the school enrolment section on the department’s website for more information.

Primary School (Reception to Year 6) and Secondary School (Year 7 to 12) Enrolments
How to Enrol
To commence an enrolment at Avenues College, please complete the online Registration of Interest for Enrolment form.
Additionally, you will need to submit via email (dl.0906.info@schools.sa.edu.au) or hard copy, copies of supporting documents used to verify your child’s information. Verification documentation includes a copy of the child’s original birth certificate or passport, proof of address (for example utility bill or lease agreement) and residency visa, if you’re a non-Australian resident. The enrolment process may be delayed if the verification documentation is not provided.
Please notify us on the online form, if the enrolment of your child is more pressing.
Once the online form and all of the supporting documentation have been submitted, you will be contacted within 7 days regarding the outcome. If the outcome is successful and Enrolment Interview will be arranged to finalise the paperwork and negotiate a start date. Please note that, upon enrolment, your child’s start date may be delayed to coincide with the beginning of a school week/term.
On your child’s first day of attendance, a member of our staff leadership will meet and support you. A photograph of your child will be taken, a copy of the bell times and timetable (secondary students only) provided as well as IT support to connect devices. A short orientation around the relevant spaces of the school will be undertaken before taking them to their class/lesson.
Year 6 to Year 7 (Secondary School Transition)
The enrolment process for Year 7 is managed by the Department for Education, online via a link provided by the primary school your child is attending in Year 6.
You will be asked to complete some personal information and to nominate up to three preferred secondary schools.
Your preferences are reviewed along with school zoning and student population limitations, before you are allocated to a specific secondary school. You will have the opportunity to appeal these decisions against specified criteria.
Allocated secondary schools will then contact you with the commencement information and documentation for you to complete.
Transitioning students will have the opportunity to attend their secondary school for two consecutive days, to meet their peers, their teachers and participate in some orientation activities. These two days are the same for all public schools in SA to support all future Year 7 students to attend.
