Reporting information
Effective communication between staff, students, and parents/caregivers is essential for student success and wellbeing. Two key aspects of this communication are:
- regular reporting of a student’s academic progress
- opportunities to meet and discuss an individual child’s progress face-to-face.
Student reporting - reception to year 12
Written reports for all students are published twice a year – at the end of each Semester. These reports provide parents and caregivers with detailed information on academic and personal progress, including teachers’ comments on attitude and achievements.
For students in year 7 to year 12, Student Progress Reports are also published. These provide an overview of a student’s progress across a term and are released at the end of term 1 and term 3.
Student report companion
Parents and caregivers can access the Student Report Companion to assist in understanding their child’s reports.
SACE Achievement Standards
Performance standards and grades for the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) can be viewed at: Performance standards and grades – South Australian Certificate of Education.
Modified SACE
Modified SACE subjects assess completion based on personal learning goals rather than achievement standards. Results are reported as “Complete”, “Not Yet Complete”, “On Track”, or “Not on Track” for successful completion.
For more information please go to Modified Subjects – South Australian Certificate of Education (sace.sa.edu.au).
Parent/Teacher interviews
Parent-teacher interviews are a vital part of supporting your child’s education. They help build positive relationships, enabling teachers to share insights about academic progress, behaviour, and social development. They also give parents the opportunity to share valuable information about their child’s learning style, interests, and home environment.
Avenues College invites all families to participate in our annual Parent/Teacher Interview evening. These interviews, for students from Reception to year 12, are usually held in the last two or three weeks of term one, providing a great opportunity for meaningful engagement.
